About MKB Constructors
MKB Constructors has a long history of construction in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Founded in 1984, MKB brought together the owners of BECK Constructors (RD (Dick) Egge and PD Koon) and former employees WJ (Bill) King and Dave Moor.
BECK Constructors has a history of construction in the northwest and Alaska that goes back to the 1960's. For years BECK completed military projects on the Aleutian Islands of Shemya and Adak. They also completed many projects in Fairbanks and other areas of Alaska.
MKB's early projects were at Shemya AFB on the remote Aleutian Island 1500 miles from Anchorage, carrying on the tradition of BECK Constructors. MKB managed the work of joint venture "Shemya Constructors" a joint venture of MKB and Dyad Construction. Projects at Shemya included construction of an aircraft hanger, rocket launch facility, and road and airfield paving projects.
MKB also obtained marine and heavy construction projects in other areas of Alaska and Washington. Notable projects included the construction of deep water cellular structures near Kavilina, Alaska, working from barge, trestle, and ice bridge to complete the project in the winter months. MKB's site project manager was Mark Jensen and the projects manager was Scott Barouch.
Today, Mark Jensen and Scott Barouch own MKB Constructors. Dick Egge and PD Koon retired from involvement in MKB at the end of 2002, and Dave Moor retired from involvement in 2008.
The current owners of MKB Constructors, Mark Jensen, and Scott Barouch, have a long history of working together that goes back to the Jensen and Reynolds Construction Co. Scott was hired by Dave Jensen as a project manager for the Jensen and Reynolds Construction Company, a marine contractor expanding from California to the Northwest. There, he met Mark Jensen, son of Dave Jensen. Mark had recently graduated from college and worked for Jensen and Reynolds on several projects.
Mark later joined Dave and Scott at MKB Constructors as a project manager. Mark then diversified his experience and for 13 years managed heavy industrial projects for another contractor in Washington, specializing in water and waste water facilities, returning to MKB in 2004.
Today, MKB offers owners experience in heavy, military, marine, and industrial construction throughout the western US and Alaska.
